Kia Sedona 2011-2012 vs 2014 MPG

Hello,

I am thinking of buying a used Kia Sedona. I like the second generation design, and want to choose the most fuel efficient (and lowest mileage) between them. According to Wikipedia, there was an upgrade in the engine starting 2011 that allowed slightly improved MPG to 18. In 2013, there was a hiatus and no Sedonas sold in the United States. Now for 2014 version, even though it is supposed to be the same, online search indicates 17 MPG. Is it true that the 2014 model is less fuel efficient, or not really?

Thank you!

I usually get 20 to 21 in combined driving. Highway only trips I've seen as high as 25.8, but I think I had a substantial tailwind.
