Question Kia Rondo Battery Replacement

Hello,

I have a question regarding battery replacements on a Kia Rondo. First, I had a new one installed by a Kia dealer. ( I know, why go there when you pay more) but I did since I was traveling.

My question in they replaced it with a KIA Genuine part... Description on the battery reads : CCA/RC 700/120. Part No. 37110 24001u. Now, Assuming this is the correct one for my Rondo, I cannot seem to locate the manufacturer date on these.

Of course, after I had them add it, I heard from many that dealers might carry manufacturer dates beyond 6 months old. The recommended battery should be within 6 months of the date.

Is there any website that will show the date of the manufacturer? I just want to make sure they did not give me an old battery.

Thank You!

Anthony

I installed my own at Advance Auto and they loaned me the tools to do it! The car had died in the Walgreens drive through next door, not enough battery juice to start. My fault, I had been ignoring the battery even though the engine seemed to be turning over slower and slower when I went to start it. Finally it just up and died on me on what was thankfully a very pleasant November evening.

One of the guys from Advance Auto Parts came over and jump started me. Before I walked over there though, I bought the battery I needed from my phone using an online discount code good for $35 off! haha.

My battery was stamped November 11, which was the same month that I bought it in.

Sorry, I don't know where to look on your battery though. You might have to pull it back out to see if there are additional manufacturing codes on the side or the bottom. There is one nice thing about the Kia battery though, it has a great handle on top of it. The Advance Auto Parts battery did not have that feature, which made it more difficult to install.

What is the life expectancy of the OE battery in the Rondo? Anyone out there have two years or more on a replacement battery? Seems like there is a lot of junk out there.

Our Rondo will be hitting the 5-year mark in early July, and the factory-installed battery is still going strong (confirmed with a battery test a month ago).

However, I will be replacing it this Fall as I wouldn't feel comfortable next winter in -30 C weather with a battery which is almost 6 years old.

I got mine on May 2008. It was manufactured June 2007, but was waiting on the parking lot... for me
Now it will be almost five years for the battery and it still cranks just fine on cold winter days.
