Default Kia Rondo Oil Filter 2008 v6

I picked up a new Rondo about a month ago and I usually change the oil @ 1000 miles just to see how break in is doing. I went to the local parts shop to get a filter and all they has was the 80+mm size. Looking at this it no where near the 64mm OEM filter so I opted not to chance it. My problem is and I hope someone can help is where can I get the OEM 64mm filters on line. Has anyone used the 80+mm filter and fit well or did they need to remove the skip plate to get them in. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Smile oil filter

HI From Nanaino BC

in my Rondo I get my filter from the dealer,,, its only $8 or so ,,,, that way the dealer has a record of the oil change .........then I get my 5w20 of synthetic oil from walmart and do the work myself ,,,,,

Many parts stores dont have the Rondo listed in there system yet due to it a relitive NEWish car on the market

nanaimoguy is right. There is no chance to get a KIA certified oil filter for Rondo.
KIA claim in the oil filter is a valve that does not allow back flow of oil when engine off. Aftermarket replacements (even if it says it is for Rondo) do not have this feature.

So the only place to get the oil filter is a dealer.

Almost all oil filters made today have the anti drainback feature. Are you talking about something different?

I do not know exactly what I am talking about. Someone on the forum was claiming that genuine KIA oil filter differs from any other aftermarket one. And it was related to this back flow valve.

Default Aftermarket Parts

Hi All ,,,,As the Rondo is a kia in the leage of its own.. looking at parts counters or in catalogs the rondo might not be listed ,,,,, but the basic workings motor and drivetrain,, are based on the KIA Magentis ,,,,,,,,,,,soooooooo if you cannot find the rondo listed just look for the same year and model and or motor (2.4 or 2.7) of the Magentis and that part should fit

The Kia oil filter is a very high quality one. However, there are high quality aftermarket filters as well. I am using a Wix 51334 right now and it does have a silicon anti-drainback valve on it.

Stay away from Fram, they are very low quality.

And, I have yet to go to a parts store here in Austin, Texas USA that does not have the Rondo in their computer.
