Default AM/FM-Stereo?

I can't find any specs on the non-premium radio....what kind of power does it have?
How does it sound? I saw one review said it was slightly "tinny".

What do you owners say?

In my 2008 EX model I have the M446 model which is the standard factory unit. To my ears the sound on this unit is great coming through the six standard speakers.

I've read various comments saying that that in general factory radio's are no good, but unless I've got a "tin-ear", it sure doesn't sound that way to me (I do have a Pioneer 5.1 surround sound unit for my home theater system, so I know what decent sound should be). I find the unit very easy to use, nothing complex with it (my after market unit in my previous vehicle had so much stuff on it that you had to get out the manual every time you wanted to do something simple). It also sounds fantastic with my mp3 player too. There is various presets using the EQ button (all the button are easy to use and clear labels, none of these dinky little things with labels that you can hardly see).

The only thing I would like to have seen is a USB hook up and play mp3 discs, but other than that its great. It certainly doesn't create a need in me to replace it with an after market one.

PS: - could you fill in details on what you drive - thanks.

From all the ones that I have rented, I'd say the 4 speaker one on the LXs isn't too swift. The mid level one, as discussed above, seems quite adaquate to me. Haven't had much experience with the top unit as only heard one while doing a test drive.

Thanks guys....if I buy a Rondo it will be a 5 passenger EX which I take it has
the "mid" level sound system?

My wife has an Infiniti G35 coupe with the big Bose sound system. It's nice but
I don't think it's "that" nice.

I had some fairly new Kicker speakers that I pulled from my old car when I sold it and had them put into my Rondo LX. The stock radio does not have alot of power, but the sound is greatly improved just by swapping out the speakers. You can get a set of 4 for around $100 on Ebay. I had them installed for $70 by Circuit City. Went from a lousy sounding stereo to a really great sounding stereo for low to mid-volume listening.
For whatever reason, the sound quality from the MP3 input is better than the quality from the CD player.

Yes, the EX without the sunroof & leather seat option(s) has the "mid-range" stereo. 6 Speakers.
