I thought I would start a new thread particular for any new or potential buyers on the site thinking about the 2009 models.
We should start getting more info and details within the next month or so, so they can be added to this thread and kept all in one spot. It was late August last year when we got the 2008 model info, but the US was very late and into the 2008 year before much was available.
Kia Canada has only info on the 2009 Amanti, Sportage and Borrego as of this date.
The only info I've come across so far is from the KGIS site and it would appear the same engines are carried over for 2009 - but as we all know things can change
Just read in Car and Driver that the 09 Rondo with the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder will get bumped up to 175 hp, makes sense since the Optima for 09 will be the same, no mention whether the six cylinder will match the 190 hp in the Optima though.

To me this is a step backwards. Rondo mileage isn't one of it's strong points and bumping the HP will only add to that.
Just toke a look at the KGIS, and it is the Theta II, The new engine has CVVT on both intake and exhaust cam. (on the 07 & 08 CVVT is fitted on the exhaust side)
The new diagram for the 09 don't have an index, but item 20 & 21 are CVVT oil valves for the intake and exhaust...
