Hello everyone, i don't know if anyone has noticed this, but i certainly have in the UK, Most, and please remember, i said "MOST" Carens i see, are being driven by over 50 year olds. Are there many under 50s driving Carens or am i in the Minority.. I'm 35 and bought mine as a more economical and smaller option to my Sedona. I use mine to do 60miles each day commuting, then ferrying my three kids around everywhere, aswell as towing my 20ft, 1500kgs caravan down to France 3 times a year. It does all this brilliantly, except for the very easily marking interior...Not going there though. Just wanted to know what sort of age group is the majority........Phil.

You've obviously seen me on the road....yes, I'm old enough to be your dad. Strange if so many owners are [space for own expression to describe some one older than 50] given the 'family' appeal of the Carens.
You clearly find the Carens a good tug - I do too - I've just lugged a trailer with 6 sailing dinghies on it for a junior sail training week - 'old but still game'.
I have a 35 yr-old son, so I'm also well over the 50 mark, at an age when I value practicality, competence and reliability over beauty and speed. Come to think of it, while I can still admire that, I feel the same way about women. I know which I prefer to spend my life with.
In the four months I've had my Rondo, I still admire its features and value. I admit to having a few trepidations about long-term reliability, I'm choosing to believe that Kia/Hyundai has begun to include quality into their vehicles. Part of my decision to buy was based on this forum and the opinions of you fellas over there who've been living with this vehicle, in some form, for a lot longer than we have
Hum... showing my age... there I go..... rambling on.
Well, I'm 45 and bought mine to downsize from the minivan also. I still needed the room in the back, though, for our nearly grown disabled son who will be with us for some time yet and the Rondo was a good fit. I haven't really been looking too closely at the other Rondo drivers in town, but I'm guessing about half and half for younger vs. 50+ owners. I'm going to have to start paying attention. I have noticed that there are alot more Rondo's around though.
I have two daughters and they are 35 and 39, so figure that out (tip, I'm going to be retiring next year).
We got the Rondo offering a compact size, good visibility, easy of entry and exit but with lots of hauling capacity to accommodate our large dog and many other things.

I'm 57 and my wife is 46. We downsized from a Sedona as well. Still wanted some room for gear as our 10 year old son plays baseball and soccer, our 16 year old daughter dances, runs cross-country and track, and we take some long vacation hauls. We also bet on getting a lot better economy than with the Sedona and got double the mpg in town and gained 50% on the highway with comparable loads.
I owned small, fast cars, great handling cars, terrific motorcycles, muscle cars (well, one in particular), I raced in some decent autos, and drove some high-end Detroit steel. But we shopped hard this purchase, studied, and came up with her Rondo. This forum and the other one helped.
I, too, have noticed a lot of Rondo owners around Louisville are at or over the "middle aged" mark.
Interesting comment about the similarity in women - I too choose comfort and reliability over "sportiness", though the wife is plenty of that too. She's a far sight better looking than me so I include a couple of pics of her with HER car.
I got to thinking the last few days what to do for a car when our daughter needs one of her own and we have firmly decided some form of Kia. I think if I have to suddenly replace my Tracker - my "work" car - it'll be another Rondo.

I'm 36 and usually it is just me in the car. I have always loved versatile, practical vehicles. I have loved station wagons since I was young along with VW Buses. This vehicle fits me perfectly and despite not fitting the "family" demographic, at least here in the US as it is marketed, I would have no problem recommending the vehicle to anyone at any age no matter how big or small their household is.
