Default Low Fuel Warning Light

Hello all, does anyone know how much fuel is left in the tank when the Low Fuel warning comes on?

Default aw geez! this is gonna be a big thread!

No one alive actually knows or can even make an intelligent guess as to just how much gas is left in your tank when the light comes on. It is fact over legend that every Rondo is different, some to a great extent, and frankly, most Rondos seem to be different themselves at different times!

I know our '07 LX I-4 has taken about 2.2 US gals when we stopped as soon as possible - within less than ten miles - after the light came on while on a highway trip. We seldom catch it that soon and sometimes only the next day when around town.

We go by our well-established mpg and the suggested size of the tank to figure how many miles we can go on a tankful. The gauge on ours seems pretty consistent. I've read and heard some are complete mysteries.

Sadly, you're probably just going to have to play around with it getting it as soon after the light comes on and see for yourself, on yours, how much is left. (Even then, the exact fill-up volume is in some dispute, shrouded by mystery probably stemming from some ancient, tribal, Korean religious laws.)

I envy you the Black Cherry color. It was our first choice but we settled for Volcanic Red, which we also liked, because it was the "other color" available then besides silver! We like the red, being almost exactly the color of our old Sedona we traded in. Our neighbors were unaware for some time that we had even traded! (One asked if we had a new car or something and I told her, "No, the dam*ed cheap Korean crap shrank when we left it in the rain! I'm not entirely sure she does not believe this!)

Months ago I filled up once or twice right after the light came on, subtracted the amount of gas it took from the tank capacity and came up with something just over a gallon that was remaining before fill-up. I don't remember the exact number, but do remember calculating that I could go about 30 miles once the light comes on - based on my overall average MPG of 26. 30/26 is 1.15 so that must be what I calculated. Obviously not an exact science, but a rough calculation.

I've filled up a few times shortly after the light went on (first time I wanted to make sure it was functioning) and I would say about 9L, so I figure I can travel another 75km safely without too much concern.

That makes sense. I always wondered why I could never get more than 14 Gallons in my tank, especially after reading in the manual that the tank actually holds 15.85.

So after my Low Fuel light came on I filled her up, 13.4 Gallons. So 15.85-13.40 = 2.45 Gallons left when the Low Fuel lights, theoretically.

Thats way more than I expected, I rush right to the gas station when it comes on to pump more money in, come to find out I could go another 50 miles!

Only problem now, in light of the current fuel situation, is that it went up another 0.10 cents per gallon while you were moving on down the road !!!
