Anyone seen a flip key?

Hello:

Just got a new 2007 Rondo and am loving it. A friend of mine got a new Mazda Something (some letter/number combination name) with a flip key remote and that's the only thing I'm jealous about.

The flip key really appeals to the gadget freak in me. Do I need one? No. Do I want one? Oh, yeah!

I've found a "universal" flip key alarm system by...uhm...JDL, I think...but it doesn't mention being usable for a Kia.

Does anyone out there know who might make these keys for a Kia? Naturally, I'd prefer one with the remote keyless entry clicker built in, but it's not a deal breaker.

I'm at that stage of life where I'm just glad if I can remember where I left my keys....oh flip!

Think I'd call it a "switchblade" key, but, yes they are pretty neat. The Mazda was probably a CX-7 or CX-9.

VWs have them, too. I miss mine from my Golf. I had seen another kit somewhere (perhaps eBay) and it made it seem simple but I am a little concerned I would mess it up! :P If you decide to do this, please keep us informed.

10 Reason why a a 'Flip Key' is a good idea.

1. All your car entry gizmos are reduced to one intergrated unit
2. It is one less key on your key chain
3. In the dark, it might be mistaken for a switchblade
4. To nerds it is a Star Trek communicator
5. 'cause all the cool cars has one
6. When your teen age daughter ask for the car, you can say "I can't find the key"
7. In a pinch, you can use it in hand to hand combat
8. Your Ex wife can't 'key' your new wheels after the divorce sediment
9. You can pretend it is a hand held Phaser!
10. It leaves a nice bulge where your car key use to be

Thanks 321! I actually found it myself not too long after I posted the question (isn't that always the way?) I was going to post a link to it this morning but you beat me to it!

Anyhoo, I ordered one yesterday, but it's on backorder. ETA is 5/30. Once I get it, I will file a report.

I've had a hire car with a flip key (memory working again!) and I agree they are very tidy. I wonder with the Carens what the issues might be with the immobiliser and remote entry?
