Hello everyone, does anyone know a quick and simple fix, to stop the VERY annoying warning buzzer that lets me know i've left my keys in the ignition without the engine running !!!!!!!
Why, oh why do they fit these to Kia's ????
My other cars have the warning beeper too...but somehow, since the day I got my Rondo a few weeks ago, I actually notice the Rondo beeping to be more annoying. I understand the purpose of the warning, and it has worked for me in the past, but there is something different about it in the Rondo that really gets under my skin....
Am I missing something here, isn't this a good thing to make sure you don't leave your key in the ignition. This has been on cars for decades, my '86 Olds did the same thing.
It doesn't beep (certainly isn't a buzz) when the keys in the ignition with the engine off, it only actives as soon as you open the door with the key in the ignition, which is when you want to be reminded of it, otherwise you could end up locking your keys in the car!
I'm just glad its not one of those annoying voices that used to be on some of the vehicles at one time!

Another feature I am glad they added: As long as the key is in the ignition, the front doors won't lock. I would assume this is something standard in all markets.(?) All of my old VWs did this, too, on the driver's side. I have always wished all cars did this.
You have no ideas of how much research goes into little things like the color of the florescence light in the office; or the particular shade of red the stop sign should have or; in our case, how annoyed the "chime" should be so you wouldn't forget the keys are in the ignition. To strike a balance between pleasant and noticeable. The chime must cut though the engine noise without sounding harsh. The hours of research, focus groups and dead lab animals. This subject must, and probably had, fueled several volumes of text and a fists full of PhD thesis And.....
Where is that fuse??? That f&%& buzzer is driving me around the bend....

I hate this feature since it won't allow me to warm up my car on cold winter mornings without leaving the car unlocked. My commute is only 10 minutes, so if it's really cold out, I can finally feel heat about 3 minutes from my job. I guess I should have sprung for the heated leather seats! LOL!
