Default Carens Air conditioning

Has anybody come across a common fault with the UK spec air conditioning?

What do you mean by common fault?

Do you have a problem that needs our help or is it just a general question?

Sounds like you've got a fault diagnosis already!

If you can let us know what age & model your car is (at the same time a fill of your profile info with the same would be beneficial to others reading this thread in the future) we can then try to help you.

On a general note I have not heard of this type of fault on the UK Carens or the US Rondo.

Someone either on this forum or the Edmunds forum commented he had taken a rock or other debris through the grille that punctured and emptied his AC system. Low refrigerant pressure will not let the compressor engage. Could be something like that? Condensor coil is in front of the radiator and poorly protected.

Two weeks into owning our US '07 LX I-4 we had a glitch in our AC for reasons I cannot fathom. Car running, vent open, fan on, AC off, we turned on the AC and it never switched to AC from ambient air. We turned it off, turned it back on again, and it was fine. Never repeated the fault. Gets danged cold fast, too!

My compressor was making noise but the air-conditioning still worked. Took it in the first time and they changed out a couple parts. Noise came right back. Second time they changed out the compressor (all at no cost). Ran fine for 2 months. Was out driving today and noticed the same noise started up again (mechanical clunking when at a stop and air on). Guess it's got to go back in again for the 3rd time.
