Just to shoot out another thought/question. If Kia is aware of it and trying to resolve it why is it some dealers are claming to have no knowledge of the problem and are acting as if it does not exist??

I'm starting to worry about Kia's dealer network a little and wondering if maybe I should steer away which is really a shame because we really do like the Rondo and I've put so much effort into researching it.

I plan on calling Kia Canada today and "inquiring" about the issue, I'll let everyone know what they tell me.

Update:

I contacted Kia here in the states a few days ago to file another formal complaint. After being condescended to by the operator (claiming that "no, it was in fact the first time I had called and this problem has not been documented") I announced my intentions to pursue litigation under the lemon law.

Lone behold, not more than 2 days after this I received a call from the regional office in Atlanta telling me that Kia was aware of the problem, a part has been fabricated to fix the problem, and it is en route to North America from Korea. My VIN is apparently towards the top of the list to be notified once the part makes it to my region.

While I am glad a part is now on the way (if this is true) the entire ordeal experienced by me and others on this forum points to a larger, systemic issue within KIA. One arm denies the problem and treats you like an idiot (customer service), one arm admits the problem but does not have a fix (dealer), and one arm admits to the problem after threats of litigation (corporate). Is KIA a corporation attempting to retain customers or a Federal Government?

Well paholler

I just spoke to KIA Canada and they told me that they had no complaints on this, the lady on the car told me that some of her collegues drive the same vehicle with no issues. I informed her that there are numerous peole who are experiencing this issue and that I wanted to confirm that KIA was working on a resolution and if they had any updates. She told me she was not aware of it and was not able to provide me any update as it as technical information was for KIA personnel only. I was told by the KIA rep to go to the Dealership Service Dept for assistance as they could not povide any info. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager available... they were all on lunch What orgainization allows all managers to go to lunch at the same time??? I also told her the dealer directed me to KIA Canada but she just repeated go to the dealer... So Basically they were no help, BIG SURPRISE!!!

I called one Dealership and they claim KIA sent out a TSB about the issue within the last month and it basically outlined a bunch of things to check with regards to the suspension and alignment. The final item apparetny was to replace the tire. I asked for a copy of the bulletin and he will look into it for me. If I get it I will post it.

Tires have nothing to do with this issue. I had the same problem with the OEM tires and my new winter tires I had installed. But if Kia is replacing tires, sign me up, I'll take some new free tires.

You won't get a copy of the TSB concerning this issue. It is for KIA personnel only. Unless someone gives you it by mistake. I would like to read it, so I hope you do get it.

I contacted my dealer on this issue again.

My email to dealer,
On May 22nd front end alignment done by your service department that didnot solve the pulling right problem on my 2007 Rondo. Last time, when I came for an oil change & power windows regulator replacement, you mentioned me that Kia Motors are aware of the problem and working on parts replacement. I contacted Kia and they informed me that I am the first one to report this problem (I am very much aware that is not true). Kia motors would like me to take the vehicle to service and leave it in your service department and call Customer Assistance Center. From there Kia will talk to you guys. Are you OK with leaving the car in your service at 8 AM on August 4th. Do you provide any drop off / loaner service to the customers?

Dealer's Response:
Our DPMS is aware of Rondo alignment problem & tech support team is also, setting the front end by the specs in repair manuel is not working, they tell us they are working on some replacement parts to correct problem,we also have loaners vehicles if they are here, right now we are out of loaners i dont know if any will be back Monday.

I contacted Kia again today. I was not able to update my previous case on Kia's website. Looks like they deleted my previous case. I created new one and asked for an update. I also mentioned the Atlanta Regional Office's response also.

here is what i got...

No they cannot provide me with a copy of the TSB, but they will allow me to review it if I go into the shop. unfortunately they close before I get home so I will not be able to do this until I can take some time off. I will keep you all posted.

The Service tech at the dealership told me that this is an issue with all KIA's, he gave me the combating the curvature in the road bit, I explained that some drivers are indicating that the problem is ocurring after weeks or months at is not present at the time of purchase, I also explained that a simple alignment did not resolve the issue. This is when he found the TSB.

Will see what the outcome is.

It comes out kind of squished...maybe change some settings? I've never uploaded before so I'm just asking!

I can certainly understand that. Who wants to fight with a car for several hundred miles? It's worse than driving that far in a crosswind!

Hm..that VW Jetta Sportswagen I saw recently is looking more and more like a viable option...what a shame.

Thanks for the honest POV. I sure hope they get it resolved, just do a recall for both model years and deal with it before they ruin their reputation.

I guess basically what I am asking is knowing of the issue with the vehicle pulling to the right, and some of the other more minor issues mentioned within the forum, would you feel safe with your wife and children driving around in this vehicle through all types of weather (snow and rain...), how prevelant is the problem?
I found this site while I was Rondo shopping, so I was looking for it. As we all know, car shopping is super stressful.
When I test drove the EX, I was looking for it...and man, it was pronounced. As I said, it did a 2 lane change in 1000 feet.
I settle on a 4cylinder, and am totally happy. I just am concerned that out of the the 3 dealerships, and 6 sales people/managers nobody had a clue on this issue. One sales manager that smelled like weed tried to just blow it off...until I pulled up this site and showed him.

One thing I found is there are huge differences in KIA dealerships. The one with the high sales manager was low a low rent type of place, and felt cheap. I ended up at City Kia in Orlando, and they had their act together.

Again, I just don't understand why they wouldnt just pull the bad vehicles of the lot and fix them, BEFORE a potential customer test drives them.
I would have bought the Loaded EX for $24K if it didnt pull, and they didnt try to BS me.
Instead, I saved $5K and got the 4 cylinder LX with 3rd row(which is really hard to find in Florida)

Kia really needs to raise its standards regarding who they allow to sell their vehichles.
