You do know that the Rondo is built on the Optima/Magentis platform?

Yes of course, I work on these almost every day.

But again the problem was the dealer not the car.

Put me down as another that has had pulling issues since the Rondo was new. Pulls to the right. Haven't had it in to the dealer yet, but this forum will be helpful in explaining the problem.

Try getting a cd and put it in the cd player while drivng at 100km.....lol..your fighting with the cd and the pulling to the right......its like grab the steering wheel-cd, steering wheel-cd, steering wheel-cd...more dangerous then talking on a cell phone.

str8ace, there is a service bulletin out on this problem now (in Canada). Tell your dealer about it and you should be able to get it solved.

Its a Canadian service bulletin that the general public does not have access to. As you probably have read it took a lot of time and effort on both my part and Kia's part to fix this problem.

Kiatech (US) has public access but I am not sure if any related bulletin has been posted on there. I was told about the bulletin by the Kia regional rep that was working to solve my issue.

All the alignments in the world won't help unless they modify the strut mount to the steering knuckle to allow for camber/caster adjustments because from the factory these are fixed and not adjustable.

Narvo, undoubtedly, it was due mainly to your persistence that there's now a TSB in Canada on this issue, so you've made it hopefully easier (or maybe I'm just dreaming) for others to get this issue fixed. Perhaps V6 owners in the States can make a reference to it (not sure how in sync Kia Canada and Kia USA are, though). I don't even have a V6, but I feel like we all owe you something.

I've rented 8 Rondos now, from Enterprise, all have been V6s, some LX and some EX. I've never had one that pulled in either direction.

Think I'd have to agree with the above, that it probably "comes with the car" and isn't something that develops after some period of time of ownership.

Think the advice about roadtesting a vehicle reasonably extensively before purchase would probably reveal any problems like this prior to purchase.

Good advice there !!!

Hi all,

I am about to buy a Rondo and (thanks to what I read on this forum) I have asked the same question to every dealer I went to : what about the pulling to the right issue ?

All the dealers told me they were unaware of the problem BUT the last one I went to checked with their director and I was told that they are *aware* of the problem and that a solution has been found (it has to be the bulletin you are talking about).

On top of that, they added that changes were made to the production lines and that Rondos produced after March 2008 should not have this problem.

I have no way of verifying this information but thought others might be able to confirm...
