Default rain water drips from the roof

This is an odd observation that I thought only I would complain about, but glad to see that some one else noticed

The other day, took our 3 week old Rondo out with the family while it was raining. Took extra trouble to use a huge golf umbrella while I got the kids in and out of car seats, but I noticed a significant amount of water found its way onto the seats and floor of the car in the rear.

Didn't get any direct rain into the car, thanks to the umbrealla. Lots of water dripped off the roof and onto the floor and seats. I also noticed that the doors are also angled a bit oddly - the water on the top chanel of the door drips inwards towards the car- unless you open the door all the way, in which case it goes down the inside of the door rather than into the car.

In my previous car, and my other car (an Accord and a Toyota Echo), there are chanels close to the edge of the roof, which would stop the water on top of the roof to drip down the sides of the car, and chanel it to the back and front.

Anyone else see this? Any suggested modifications?

This effect has been noted in a thread on spotting/staining of seat fabric by the rain coming in. I have noted the rain coming in, but luckily, I have not had any staining.
