Default Hitch In My Git-Along

I just bought a used 2005 Amanti. At a speed of approximately 45 mph the car seems to have a sporadic hitch/lurch. Not sure if this is a known issue and not sure what might be causing this to happen. Seems like the car runs really well otherwise. When this happens it is like the car is not sure about what gear to be in or something like that.

I spoke to the dealership where I got the car and they thought it might have something to do with the car learning my driving/shifting pattern, so I took the car in and they reset the adaptive part of the computer by disconnecting the battery terminals and holding them together for 30 seconds. The car still does this thing and it is really starting to bug me.

If anyone knows about this or has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks,
Brian

Have they check to see if you have any campaign's (aka recalls) on the vehicle?

I'd be willing to bet you have an ignition coil breaking down. I had an '05 in the shop a few months back that the customer insisted was a transmission fault. I felt a hitch in the car on acceleration, came back to the shop and pulled the engine cover off. With the engine running, and all loads (A/C, lights, etc.) and the vehicle in drive, #4 ignition coil sent a nice fat blue arc to the valve cover along with a 'pop', which the car lurched in time to. Swapped the coil, and test drove vehicle, no more lurch, and customer says it's running better than ever.
