I am having acceleration problems with my 2005 Amanti. Anyone else?
Two dealerships tell me no one else is having any problems!

Can you describe the problem?

The Hyundai XG350 (Amanti's sister car) is known for aggressive initial throttle tip-in, due to the nature of its drive-by-wire system.

Mine is smooth as silk.

My 2005 Amanti occasionally has a real touchy acceleration problem. Slightest touch of gas petal and it lurches. Haven't noticed any pattern.

I have a 2005 and have not had anything what I would consider a problem. I have encountered my baby having some stutter in her step in extreme cold situations (living in Green Bay - The Frozen Tundra), but I do not consider that a problem.

Seems like our friend may be questionable. Duped?? I hardly think even a few problems classifies being duped.

Provide details Mr Duped.

Hi, I also have a 2005 Amanti, and I have the same problem. Here's what I've noticed:

When it happens, it usually happens at cold startup. It only happens infrequently. The slightest touch of the gas will cause it to lurch forward, but also it lags, you can push the accellerator deep and still not get much response. Usually, this is the scenario: I'll back out of the driveway which is sloped down, don't need to hit gas. Stop in street at end of driveway, put into drive, touch the gas, and it will lurch. Back off gas, it backs off, gas again lurch again. Full stop at the corner. Now gas pedal and car behaves normally, usually for most of the day.

I took it in, left it overnight, it didn't appear for them. I'd say it happens about 1 day out of 7 or so. It often happens after a cold night, but yesterday it happened after I parked outside at 45 degrees but very windy for 2 hours at midday. Again, it stopped misbehaving after a full brake and stop at a stop sign. Otherwise the ride is very smooth. Dealer checked for codes - no codes reported at all - no engine light came on - nothing for them to work with.

Cold weather seems to be common to problem. Some kinda seal or connection in fuel system leaking pressure when cold, but seals up upon warm up? I guess I'd check fuel line connectors at tank and engine ends.

Could be electrical, again caused by contraction in cold temps. Good luck on guessing where to check tho...........

Like I mentioned, I do notice a little stutter after a cold start. It really is pretty minor. I just dont accel hard when it is cold. When the temp drops below zero I let the car warm up a bit.

Good luck.
