have had same problem on my 2005 Amanti - ignored it at first because it happened so infrequently. After 2 near accidents due to pedal being pushed and getting barely any acceleration while trying to enter a 4 lane, and then losing acceleration travelling at 40 mph, engine light came on, I pulled off the road and turned the car off. Kia said I could drive the car back to work 1.5 mi, and Kia Roadside would tow it to the nearest Kia dealer (60 Mi. away) I bought the car local but dealership was bought and new owners ditched the Kia line. Diagnosis code w/ck engine light was P2127. The dealership tightened some wire harness, and cleaned some gook off something fuel related and said it was fixed. I had to pay someone to drive me an hour away to pick up the car. That was on 1/21/2008, and on 2/28/08 I took my vehicle to the brake shop - said I needed new rotors even though I have only put 15000 mi on since purchase and I'm not hard on the brakes at all. Anyway, brake tech took car out for road test, came back white as a ghost and asked if I had experienced any hesitation problems. He told me he tried to pull into traffic twice, had next to no acceleration, and then the car lurched quickly almost causing 2 accidents!! I told him it was fixed last month??? Ha! I made an appt. for rotors, got into my car to return to work, (only 1 mi down the road) and my check engine light comes on again, I lost acceleration as I rolled into my work's parking lot. Kia towed it once again - 60 miles - and the dealership called to say that the code was the same , P2127, and that they were ordering a throttle actuator. So that's where I stand right now. To be quite honest, I have become scared to death to even drive my car, not knowing when it may lose power and possible result in a terrible accident. If I didn't owe so much on the loan I would trade it in in a heartbeat. Will post back after I get my car back.

Check part number 3535739700 - SENSOR ASSY-ACCEL POSITION that should fix your hesitation problem.

As smooth as a baby's bottom??? You'd better hang on to your Amanti.....the ride is smooth.....acceleration is another story! How about my Amanti taking off like a dang rocket....knocking out a sign and sending me flying through brush??? That's NOT smooth!
Kia cannot find problem, and "no one else is having that problem".....yeah right!

Jamie.....I have had exact opposite problem with my 2005 Amanti! It took off like a rocket and when I repeatedly stepped on the brake pedal, the dang car just went faster! I also am scared to death to drive it. Kia knows NOTHING! and.....they don't care!
If you want it fixed, you will have to keep fighting.
