Angry Got Egged

So yesterday morning I decide to ride my bike to work.

And I completely miss the fact that... MY FREAKING CAR GOT EGGED :madasallfuckinghell: . My 5yo noticed when Momma was loading him up for school in the truck. So she busts-out the hose and sprays it all down.

Well, she missed a spot :damnitwoman: .

My daughter washed it today and calls me at work to tell me it didn't budge. Fu....dge. Well...

It all washed off, but it left like a bleached mark where the stuff was sitting. It's smooth to the paint, so to speak, as there's no appreciable change in texture or friction or feel between the stain and the rest of the hood.

I doubt it'll clay bar. Might polishing compound work?

So, who has experience with this?! I've heard egg is bad stuff. Am I ufcked?

Well, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Oh, and if you're wondering, we've kinda come to the conclusion that it was probably my daughter's ex-friend. She used to tell my girl when she didn't like somebody, she'd egg them. So we figure she thinks the car is my daughter's and is jealous or whatever. Who knows.

Or it coulda been just a random thing, but we doubt that cuz the wife said she didn't see any other cars with it (thank gawd they didn't get my truck- then I'd REALLY be pissed...) on our street. About six months ago, about a dozen cars (including one of mine that was parked in the street) got their windows busted out overnight. Cops said about 30 cars thru-out the neighborhood got it that night.

Try living in Baton Rouge, LA. They steal your FACTORY rims and leave your car sitting on the frame!!!

Hey Spacedog!
I live in Prairieville just outside of Baton Rouge.

How has Kia of Baton Rouge been treating you? I haven't had any problems with them so far. Kerry is by far the better of the service reps.

i'm pretty sure the paint is fucked. egg does pretty much the same thing as bird shit. you might be able to try a polishing compound because i've seen that stuff do some great work but from what i've heard bird shit and egg will mess up your paint pretty bad especially if it's been left on there a while.

If it does not get washed off RIGHT AWAY... then yes the paint is never quite the same.

My old car got egged while I was visiting someone and hours later when I went to leave is when I finally noticed it (hours to late). It was VERY late at night, in the freezing cold and I had to get to work (work night shift). When I did get to wash it off, most of it came off but it left marks where the egg had been. Some spots looked .... shiney, like there was bubbles on it or something, and some other spots looked like a bleached spot like you mentioned.

So I understand and feel your "pain", lol. I tried so much to get it off but it never happened- even though the car was not in that great of shape to begin with.

Sorry it happened! Wish I could help but ... I got nothing. Just no that most ways, do not work. So unless there is some secret out there.................
