Default painting stock rims

well my idea was to paint the stock 05 sportage rims (10 spoke) black on the spokes/center and paint the bottom chrome. my idea was to use duplicolor chrome and there wheel coating (satin black). then use clear Effects to the whole rim just befor final clear coat.

has anyone done anything like this i mean its not hard but im having a hard time imagining it all done.

just wandered if any one has pics?

It's been done, maybe not a 05 Sportage, but it's been done.

First you will need to media blast the rims in order to get a good surface for the paint to stick, it will be best if you use an expoy based paint, either that or have them powder coated.

If you want to do it right, have them media blasted, and painted correctly you are looking at a few hundred bucks, might just be cheaper to buy new rims.

If you want to do it fast and cheap then you can use rattle can paint but beware that it will start cracking anf chiping within a year.

Things can be done 3 ways: Fast, correct and cheap. You have the choice of any two!

It can be fast and correct, but it won't be cheap!
