Hi All, Just ordered a new ceed 1.6 Diesel, tried one dealer in Norfolk but refused point blank when I asked for a few bits for free. Went to another in Suffolk and they said yes ( Metalic paint. Tank of fuel and some nice mats ). So I ordered it.

Just wondered what to look for when I pick it up as he said I need to sign an inspection form!!

Anyway great forum, will let you know when I get it.:D

I read that this is the options only for UK?

What is the situation with other markets? I didn't noticed that anybody talked about this on forum. Somebody who has that "magic thing" are welcome to share that experience with us:rolleyes:

I got some winter tires, placed them on today, checked the pressure, they were all filled to 36 psi as that is how I received them from my Kia dealer. I've kept them at this pressure for now.

The label in the inside of the C'eed drivers door says all tires should be inflated to 32 psi.

Does anyone know if this is the same for Winter tires (e.g. should I deflate mine to 32psi)?

Readings on the side of the winter tires are 185/65R15 88T (<< which to be honest means rather little to me)

Hello.

Well as you may know, Im not a skilled driver, but yesterday I had an emergency break. I got scare yes, :S, I think even my foot on the clutch slipped away, and let the clutch go.
anyway, I felt how the front right tire was block and making that tire-asfalt sound when that happens. I thought that wasn't possible when one has ABS, or if it was because the clutch wasn't pressed, Don't know. :S.

any opinions. was it normal the tire blocking? I was going no more than 50km/h and stopped i think in like 5mts, can't tell.
PS: That was the only tire I felt and heard blocking. It may be possible that another one did so too.

Thanks

Hi guys .. I got my new Pro Cee'd (v.2, the model that came out recently) three weeks ago and during this time I did 680km. When I was at the dealer to pick up the car they told me that they did the first maintenance service and that I should be ok until first regular maintenance (15k km or 12 months).

Yesterday when I looked at all the fluids I found out that the fluid for windshield is almost empty and that the *Coolant* is like one finger above the bottom of the coolant tank .. way below the "L" line. Now .. what should I do? .. Is this ok or not? To be honest when I was at the dealer they showed me that fluids should be between max. and min. but I haven't looked how much actually was put inside. -side note: engine oil and braking fluid are at the max. level. Car is doing just fine now, but I wonder is it ok to continue driving at all?

So, winter is coming and my coolant is almost empty .. is it safe to continue driving or should I put something inside on my own (and what exactly to put inside)? Here, during winter it doesn't go below -15C -20C.

Thank you guys in advance ..

Hey all,

In the owner’s manual it talks about an Automatic dimming rear view mirror, from what I can tell no UK ceed has this available however the Hyundai i30 does!

Has anyone retrofitted one to their ceed?

Is the connector behind the interior light?

Thanks all.

Yet to clean it up and have a real look at the damage, the woman I bumped didn`t seem to fussed but it`s her husbands car and I`m sure he won`t be to chuffed!!!!. Fortunately it`s not too bad, more of a graze to both cars so I`m hoping it can be sprayed over for not too much money. :(

Brake Caliper Slider Bolts - Help!

Does anyone know where I can get the caliper slider bolts for a diesel Kia Cee'd, one of them is damaged and is hanging on by the skin of its teeth.

This seems to have been when I changed the brake discs, I struggled to get it off and when I did it was not only chewed up but when I put it on it seemed to be very weak, I couldn't tighten it too tight as it looked like it was going to shear off. I have tried a number of brake specialists and even the dealers but they can't get them, I was told I'd need to go to an iron mongers and get some made! This is insane, I cannot believe you can't actually buy them anywhere, the next time I come to change my brake pads which is going to be soon then I might snap these bolts getting them off.

Can anyone help, I will mail order them if I have to.

Hi guys,

I recently bought Griffin iPhone charger (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powerjoltiphone) for my pro ceed. The thing is it works only when plugged in lighter jack but not when plugged in 12V power outlet. So i am wondering should it work in both or there is difference between those two in voltage or somethig else? But i don't think that should be the case since on web it states that this griffin charger should work on both. What could be the problem?

Hello again.

Well I have already 3400 Km on my Kia, I normally do trips between 2 cities using the high way, and after the 1000 Km Im going normally at 120-130. I remember, I dunno until what milage, that the avg consumption on the Highway was around 7.0-7.2, but now its indicating 8.0-8.2, I really dunno if Im pushing a little more the car or what, but that 8.0 its far away from the 6.2 the car spec has, I know you never get what the brochure says, thats why a 7.2 for me was ok, but 8.0 ....... :S :S ..

What do you think?, what's the speed Kia uses to get that avg consumption they show in the brochure?..

Thx

Keys and Alarms

I got a 2nd hand Ceed the other day. It is 'Komfort'/'LS' package, so I am assuming it's 'fully loaded' (not sure it this is the case), but my question is about the key and the Theft alarm system.

I was given only one key with my 2nd hand Ceed. The remote key, with a 'transmitter' in it. The car garage I bought it from (a Ford garage) said they'll get me another key but it will be a standard key without the remote part.

Does anyone know if that means the key will not come with a transmitter?

I am asking as I read this in the manual (3|5):

"If the doors are locked by the transmitter key, unlock the doors with the transmitter."

and

"Theft alarm stage
The alarm will be activated when:
• Any door (or rearhatch) is opened
without using the transmitter."

and

Disarmed stage
The armed stage will be deactivated
when:
• The “unlock” button on the transmitter
is pressed.
• The ignition switch is in the “ON”
position.

From what I make out, the alarm will go off if I don't open it again with my remote key. (?)

I use the car for work, but my girlfriend will use it sometimes in the evening. She'll be getting the normal key. She'll be very angry if the alarm goes off everytime she opens the car. Maybe I am reading it wrong.

I also did not get a 'key code number' with the transmitter key that I was given. I would have liked this incase I need to order a new one.

Was wondering if it is possible for me to get an Instruction book for a Ceed CRDi SW in English. Mine is in Swedish, which I do not understand too well.

Is it possible to buy one, or have one sent for free perhaps? Even a version on-line would be sufficient.

An English copy of the 'Service book' would be useful, so I can read the legal stuff about getting it serviced on time etc. But I think it may not be possible to get.
