My girlfriend's '04 Optima's battery will be drained after a few days of sitting.

Everytime she leaves her car parked for more than a day it won't start, we end having to jump it off. It's gotten a lot worse, now it won't start after a few hours. So, I thought that the battery was finally gone, since it's been drained to death several times.

I got the battery tested and they said it was a good battery. So, something has to be draining the battery while it sits. The alternator is good or it wouldnt charge the battery.

I'm temporarily disconnecting the negative battery cable when it's not running.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi:

I have a 2004 Optima with the Infinity stereo system in it. Apparently, the amp is still drawing power after the ignition switch is turned off. It pulls about .30 amps.
Needless to say, the battery isn't very fond of this.........and I'd really like to be able to use the radio again.

I have pulled the fuse to the amp.

I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem, and (if so) how did you fix it?

Thanks, in advance, for your time and consideration.

Can you run Evo Adjustible Cam Gears on a G4JS?

I need to run some adjustable cam gears for a turbo motor build i'm working on and the only option i can see is to use the Evo ones but they don't match up very well.

Has anyone tried to do this and if so what did it entail?

The teeth spacing are different so that would force you to run a Evo or Mitsubishi timing belt, and change the bottom two timing gears. But even though the G4JS and 4G64 blocks are similar they do no share the same Timing Belt Configuration so i guess it would only work if the timing belts are both the same lengths and bottom timing gears match up or equal out in size.

Any help or insight would be welcomed...

Hi all, new member.

The wife and I are looking for a full-size reliable vehicle for around $5500. Im looking at a 2003 Optima SE V6 (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=267761220&dealer_id=1155008&car_year=2003&rdm=1256405175211&lastStartYear=1981&num_records=100&systime=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2001&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=216&fuel=&only_price=1&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=y&make=&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=4500&body_style=SUV&body_style=VANS&body_style=SEDAN&body_style=WAGON&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=100000&style_flag=2&sort_type=priceDESC&address=98007&advanced=y&only_photo=1&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=6000&cardist=13&standard=false) and a 2004 Optima EX V6 (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=267635875&dealer_id=100018576&car_year=2004&rdm=1256405369456&lastStartYear=1981&num_records=100&systime=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2004&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=216&fuel=&only_price=1&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=4500&body_style=SUV&body_style=VANS&body_style=SEDAN&body_style=WAGON&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=100000&style_flag=2&sort_type=priceDESC&address=98007&advanced=y&only_photo=1&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=6000&cardist=13&standard=false)

Not knowing much about Kia vehicles, am I incorrect in assuming the EX is a higher trim and much better deal? Your help would be great!

Thanks!
