I recently had to have an engine replaced in my wife's 2000 Kia Sephia. When we got it back, the tranny (auto) shifted hard & late (>5000 rpm), and did not want to go into 3rd. Also, the check engine light & O/D off light were on. The O/D button is not working. I did an diagnostic check & came up with the following codes:

P1505
P1624
P0713
P0131

Doe ANYONE have any ideas??

Hi experts out there,

recently i have a problem with my kia sephia, year 1999, automatic.
When it tried to accelerate, there is a time (when the gear is changing) that it feels like it juggle/jump a bit. Its kind of the transition between gear is not smooth, but only happen on low gear. And when it happened, the check engine light is on for a while then off again.

Any idea what happen with it? I still not sure where to check this kind of problem, any expert know about this? or any suggestion on what to check first? i am quite new to car.

Waiting for ur kind reply, thank you

A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that my Kia Sephia was having less than great mileage. At first I thought it was because gas prices have gone up, but a full tank of gas which usually gets me around for 10 days, was now only good for 7 days.

I then started noticing a very strong gas odor on the inside of the car, but I kept forgetting to check it out. This morning I had the car on idle, waiting for it to reach the standard operating temperature, when I noticed the strong gas odor again so I popped the hood open and to my surprise, there was a leak on the piece that connects the fuel hose to the piece that holds the injectors (sorry for my lack of knowledge of car parts names). The leak was enough to fill a table spoon every 2 seconds tops. God is so good to not have let the car catch on fire

Anyway, I have no idea what the name of the part is so I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is so I can order it online. Like I mentioned before, this piece is where the fuel hose is connected to, and it is attached to the piece that holds the fuel injectors. I am including two photographs taken after the piece was removed.

If anyone can tell me where to buy this ONLINE I would be really grateful!

Thanks in advance!

I just changed the oil/filter and was letting the engine run a bit so I could recheck the oil level. That's when it started to run rough. I drove it around the block and seems to be missing to me. The engine light came on so I took it to Autozone and had the codes pulled. They are p0301, p0460 and p1500. Could all these be related. I was low on gas and thought maybe I had some junk in what was left. I went ahead and put some injector cleaner in it with some high octane gas. Drove it a bit but didn't seem to help. Any suggestions? It's a 2001 Sephia with 119XXX on it.

I have a 2000 Kia Sephia LS. My check engine light has been on for almost a year now and I'm one of those people who suck and never got it looked at. On Halloween I noticed while driving on the highway once or twice, when I needed to slow down for any reason and downshift and then try and speed up the car gave a little kick or 2. Didn't really think anything of it. Now it's getting bad. Whenever I'm trying to accelerate, no matter what gear I'm shifting into, it more often than not, kicks and shakes and acts as if it wants to stall and then the check engine light begins blinking. It always comes out of it, but I know that there is obviously something majorly wrong...I'm hoping its not my tranny..but I've had my plugs and wires changed within the last year and that's the only other thing I can think of....any suggestions before I take it down to VIP and get financially raped by them?

Hey, I'm new here... but I'm sure I will be posting a lot. I recently got my car from an auction and the starter is shot in it. I knew this buying it - but now I am looking to replace it and have NO idea how to get around in this engine heh. Are there any manuals or anything on how to do this for this model?

Any advice would be great! Thanks!!
