Hi folks,

Just joined the site as I recently purchased a 2010 Kia Rio5. Of course I'm not feeling the 14 inchers and hubcaps.

What is the best wheel size to go on the car (both width and height). I figure 17's are the best but my heart is leaning towards 18 inch. Would that be overkill?

Also can these cars handle a staggered fitment? Offset wise what is the min/max for aftermarket wheels?

Thanks,

I drive a 2008 Kia Rio5 SX, 5-speed

heres the situation to give a little depth to the story:

on a rainy day i hit a curb with the drivers side front wheel
(mileage at time of accident 8229)
took it to a kia dealer and had the following replaced:

_front:_
lower control arm
cross member
wheel bearing
alloy wheel
sub frame

_rear_
rear axle

also the wheels were aligned (before and after the rear axle was replaced)

i used to get 250 - 290 miles to a tank (mostly city, mostly hwy respectively)
filling up around 9.5 gallons

now im lucky to get 225 miles (hwy or city)
filling up the same 9.5 gallons

wtf

mileage is now at 8911 (drove it to see if anything would change, alas it did not)

i havent been driving any differently as i used too, and even tried doing all shifts at 2500 rpms, no change

ideas? thoughts? suggestions?
greatly appreciated
thx

I just bought a 2009 Kia Rio5 LX and my wife is only 106 pounds 4foot 10inches in height and the airbags are off? If I sit in the passenger seat (196#) they are activated and the light is not lite. Any suggestions? I am sure the dealer will tell me the same as when I first asked that we need to add weight to where she sets? Thanks in advance. :(

About 4-5 months ago I noticed the little metal "tab" (the one in the key hole, meant to keep out water) on my drivers side door lock cylinder had broken. I guess the spring behind it failed and it just kind of sits there loosely. Not a big deal, but now I notice that when I go to unlock the car (no power option), there's a pretty loud squeaking noise coming from the cylinder. I'm assuming some lubricant can solve this pretty easily, but just had a couple of questions;

1.) Should I be worried about what type of lube to use? Any recommendations? I don't know if there's pre-existing lube or grease in there that may disintegrate if the wrong mixture is introduced.

2.) Has anyone had a problem similar to this with a Rio or any car? Like I said, it's not a big deal now, but I'm a tiny bit worried that the entire lock may seize on me one day.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
