Thermo fan switch problem

I have a Kia Mentor 1.5 petrol 1997, currently the cooling fan does not come on though it has been on in the past.
I have tested the relay with a multimeter and found it is working, and I have tested the fan by bridging the contacts with a fused wired circuit this was the only time the fan worked, all wiring is okay, can only assume that the problem is with the thermo switch. Have tried to locate the thermo fan switch on radiator but unable to find it Where can I find the switch

I have an AT 2001 Kia Sephia. It is my winter car and has been sitting in the lawn all summer. When I went to move it I found that it was incredibly hard to shift out of park. My mistake I forced it... Slowly I moved it to Drive and tried to move... the car then died due to a bad battery. I replaced the battery and now I cant start the car because it is stuck in drive (2nd gear to be precise). The shifter is now very loose and doesnt change gears when moved. What could this be? How much would it cost if I did it myself? If I brought it to a mechanic? Please help
