I have a noise in the back end that sounds like a piece of metal loose and clanking around somewhere. It only happens when I am going over bumps but not all the time. I have had it in to get fixed once but the problem was not fixed. Before I try again, has anyone else had this problem or know what it is or could be? Thanks. There's a minor TSB at the Canadian KGSIS website about a "non-problem" that might occur if you store certain 2009 Rondos for too long.

Select 2009 model year vehicles are equipped with logic in the ECM to power-down the unit after 90 days of storage time. The diagnosis DTC P2610 may lead you to believe there is an internal error in the PCM. However extended vehicle storage will cause this DTC; once the ignition key is turned OFF the timer starts and will store a pending DTC after 45.5 days are reached and at 90 days the MIL will turn ON.

This will NOT necessitate PCM replacement. To repair this concern, disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 seconds and reconnect the battery cable or remove the 10 amp ECU fuse in the engine compartment.

To prevent this from happening during long-term storage times, start the engine every 30 days and check condition of battery per Kia warranty policy.

45.5 days = P2610 pending code

We ordered our new Kia Carens CRDI LS (UK) at the end of October. We were assured that Kia run a very tight ship when it comes to the ordering process - and were told that the car would be ready to collect in 6-8 weeks.

So yesterday our sales rep calls up and tells us that the status of our order is still "Ordered", which means that (with the "up to" 6 week journey time) the absolute earliest we could receive the new car is the end of Dec/beginning of Jan.

Does anyone else have any issues with custom builds from South Korea? The garage say that there is little that they can do....

Its done 36k miles and is MOT'd for nearly a year and taxed til the end of this year, full service history and as far as I can tell is in good condition.

I know very little about these cars and was wondering if any of you lovely people would be able to tell me if this would be a good buy, anything I should look out for etc?

My brand new Rondo, which I picked up on Saturday, would not start this morning. 37 km's. Dealer sent mechanic, who called a tow truck.

Got a call at noon. The starter is kaput. Installed a new one. Ready to call me, when something else was discovered. Don't know what. My wife took the message. I called them when I got home. Service manager is off sick. The general manager, also part owner, wants to talk to me, but he had to go to an off site meeting. They attach by adhesive backing and have a magnetic switch. I mounted the light at the side of the cargo opening and the magnet on the hatch. Works like a charm and is cheap!

Is there a reason for doing this? I'm thinking the pressure in most tires this size should be around 32-34 at most.

Maybe the lease/rental company that had it before me did this for whatever reason.....better mileage???

Has anyone ever ran across this issue of high pressure in the tires? I'd like to let some of the air out unless there's a reason I should keep them at 45 psi.
