How are you trying to remove them after they are heated up? Are you using dental floss or fishing line and working it behind it?

Not sure if there are any pegs on the back of that emblem. Floss does work but fishing line is stronger.

that sucks that fishing line or floss didnt work. I didnt realize that the emblem was resessed back a bit. Chances are if its resessed back there are a couple of small pegs holding it in place and you will need to take off the interior panel on your tailgate to access it.
