So 5 years later my car is starting to show it's dislike for exposure to the sun. The dash is starting to lift up and has broken the tabs off of the one end of each vent. I went to Advance and got some adhesive that would work for vinyl and plastic made by GOOP. I glued down the vents and placed free weights on top (wrapped in towels so as not to scratch anything) of the dash to hold it down and left it alone in the garage for 3 days. On the fourth day, I drove it to work and put a windshield reflector over it until lunch but didn't cover it during lunch. As soon as I came back it was already starting to pull up again. So I need a recommendation for a stronger adhesive that I could use to hold down the dash. I don't want to replace the whole dash. I just want to try to get it lay back down. Thanks.

Edited for accuracy.

Sorry to tell you this but no adhesive is going to help.. its new dash (or junk yard one) or a lifting dash...

Wink Try this if all else fails!

You could try to bond it down with a 5-minute epoxy glue or use liquid nails on it too. If all else fails, screw it down with small flat head screws very carefully. Or you could get an axacto knife and cut the whole top dash off and the lower plastic will be exposed. I've seen some Kias like that and they seem to look alright, and then you could get an extra yards of upholsterly and cover the dash back up using the mentioned glues. Good luck!
