Thread Starter (Thread Starter)
Default All Of The Kia Trouble Codes!

NOTE:
This thread is here to assist you with what each code stands for. DO NOT, post your codes your car is throwing in this thread. Post that, in your models forum, NOT HERE.
Trouble Code Interpretation
The ECM indicates stored fault code by flashing the malfunction indicator/check engine lamp. Fault codes 1 through 9 are indicated by individual short blinks and fault codes 10 and above are indicated by long and short blinks. One long blink is equivalent to 10 short blinks. The fault code can be determined by adding the long and short blinks.

Clearing Trouble Codes
Diagnostic trouble codes may be cleared by disconnecting the battery ground cable for at least 20 seconds.

Once you've corrected the problem - battery voltage low, alternator not charging, or bad connections (like the main battery terminals or main ground wires).

Once the problem has been cleared you can get AutoZone to reset the stored error codes, or disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and switch on the lights while it's disconnected just to make sure all the residual charge is depleted.

For service info register (free) with KiaTechInfo and click on 'Shop' on the left, and for elect schematics click on 'ETM'.

Quality and not quantity counts.

Is there anywhere that tells you how to fix the problem?
Assuming your screen name is the year and model of your car,
P0734 Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio
P1500 Vehicle Speed Sensor - Open or Short (GND)

I thought that there was a good deal of useful (non model specific) comments in this thread, now deleted.

Re-added helpful info. 1fastkia. Can you add those missing codes to your list and then we can take out the posts. That way it will help members who get those codes as well.

Thanks,
Dwayn

They were model specific, ppl with sephias or sportages were posting the codes they got on their model. That is preaty specific isn't it? I would say so. When someone posts (my sportage threw p0300 or whatever, thats specific to me.

So lets just have a thread filled with every single code, from every single car car model here, that someone gets in this thread. Boy is this going to be a big mess to go through.
Your gonna have to sort through, spectras, sedonas, sportages, sephias, souls, ect. What is wrong with the model sections?
Why not have a sticky that you can click the link and go to this thread if you have a code, in each model section. Its not use to have every single code poped up here. This thread is going to be all over the place.

And really, the threads that were here, had really no useful info that isn't already on the site. If some would just simply use the search (better yet) the advanced search. They could probaby find an post on it, and if not, wow use the model specific. Say my sportage threw whatever code and I didn't know what it was, I would post it in the sportage section, as people with sportages know my car better than say a sephia owner.

If you want something like this, the admin should make a whole new section for codes. Like post your code, get help, ect.
