Thumbs up

2001 Kia Rio with automatic transmission and 45,000 miles, the engine light went on about a month ago, the error code was a 0400 and 0101. We all thought it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor, the part is on order. I erased the code and turned the light off, a few days later the light came back on this time the error code was a 0734 which is a Gear #4 incorrect ratio error, I turned the light off and erased the code a few days later the light came back on this time the error code was back to the original 0400 and 0101 errors.

What gives?

Every other time the engine light comes on the stored error code is a 0734. The speedometer in this car is screwed up, it jumps from 20mph to 60mph then back to normal, do you think this could be the reason for the 0734 error code or does the Mass Air Flow Sensor have something to do with it?

Any help would be appreciated.
