DIY Hood gas spring damper Kia Carens/Rondo (and any other)

I had it done for my previous car so it was the first thing I did for my Carens.

You will need one gas spring (strut), 2 ball joints for it (some springs can be bought already with them), piece of metal for holders and some tools (hammer, drill...).

I've used Magneti Marelli GS0695, originally for Renault Mégane III Coupé spring (OE: 904510002R - using this number you can buy it in every shop).

It takes aprox. 1 hour.

I see now that the nut is on the inside of the bracket, and the ball joint screws into that. Originally I thought the nut in the photo was the head of the bolt that went through the bracket, and the ball joint screwed onto the male bolt threads. This is a nice mod, the stock hood holding rod is a PITA.
