2005 Kia Sorento LX 144,000 miles
Really could use some assistance from someone in the know. Went to start Sorento didn't start, towed to shop and they replaced my fuel pump with a used fuel pump I purchased. Ran fine for about 10 days then out again replaced with another used fuel pump two more desperate times. Second last two days then same thing. Couldn't get started on the third used pump. I just purchased a brand new pump and put in myself and still nothing. I troubleshooter also by cleaning the MAF filter it looked clean but properly cleaned anyway and placed back correctly. Also tested spark plugs to see if they were firing and they are. Also checked the relay and fuses and they are good. Don't know what else to do. Thanks for your speedy reply.

I put in a new fuel filter using a number from alldata used the same pump and no fuel. I put a jumper in for the fuel pump relay and the pump won't put out pressure. With the jumper in I could hear the pump running. I pulled it out again and after closely looking the new filter had an opening so full flow was routed to the fuel tank. I called three Kia dealers and non stocked a filter the nearest that had one was 60miles away. I put the old filter in and ordered a new on on line from a dealer with a Vin. number check for order.
The new filter was the same and worked properly.
If you lay down on the floor with your ear towards the fuel tank you can hear the fuel pump run. Jump the two large diameter relay pins and the pump should run if it don't figure out the electrical power to the electrical plug for the pump.
