The German cars have far better dealer support in Europe and the Middle East than they do in the USA. And 200KM/h is a reasonable speed in many foreign countries on the open road.
I have to agree with Moshneb on the Spec5 shimmy problem, I never could get rid of it in mine. Do a search, you'll see the problem is widespread.

Now my Rondo, it's as smooth as silk.
The sad thing is I traded my Civic in because I was driving a little fast and damaged the sub-frame. It was never the same and always pulled to one side. I also had horrible shaking in the steering wheel.
A few things about Kia I dislike.
-They cater to people with no car knowledge and exploit it.
-The cheap sheet metal they use. I drove my parent's Cobalt yesterday and it felt like a tank compared to my car.
-The revs the ecu has the automatic tranny set at.
It is a good commuter car. No More.
I wish they could squeeze more mpgs out of a 4cyc 2.0l motor.
This is where Honda whoops Kia's butt.

200km is 130 mph? And you think that is a reasonable speed?
I can picture the little peasants in their cart wagons running for cover.
I'm not that important to waste natural resources nor would I want to chance a blow out at that rate of speed.
The shimmy problem sounds like poor alignment. I requested a new alignment after they told me twice it was fine. It was the "toe in", and I received a computer print out of the before and after.
Did you have access to a computer alignment machine?
I noticed the same twitchy handling if the tires aren't inflated perfectly and if not aligned properly.
The Spec5 is also the same size as the VW Rabbit, not the Jetta. The Rabbit is also not as long and has about 2'' more head room than the Jetta.
We are just here to share info, so nothing personal.
Yeah, I got mine because it was 3k less than the Toyota Matrix, same exact size car.
I was driving a V8 that I sold and didn't want to spend much on a car right now. In 5 years they will probably be getting close to 80 mph with diesel hybrid.
In 2009 they are just now starting to sell deisel cars again in the US, but our diesel is more expensive. Also diesel does have particles that are bad for global warming, even so called clean diesel.
I'm going to be very gentle with my Spec5 and hopefully it will hold up fine for 5 years.
All of your credibility just went out the window with that statement.
And IMO, VW blows. If you're gonna spend that kind of money get a Honda Accord. Now that is a nice car.
I have a very good experience with bridgestone (gr 80) the buses and taxes are using bridgestone(based on its quality)
more over BMW AND MERCEDES are using bridgestone(oem)
pls read reviews about gr 80
for the accord price it is 3 times the price of the jetta

What are you smoking so I can stay away from it.
Jetta is 3x more than a Honda Accord......false.
Also, that peasants running for cover thing had me dying laughing. Score one for Islanders.
Why in the hell would you drive 130mph? I think I've been over 100mph only once in my life and that was at the track.

Must be in Amsterdam…
I'm not sure why Moshneb decided to interject his problems about alignment into your thread about spark plugs?
Back on page 2, out of nowhere, Moshneb writes:
"OK but i think your car is 2008 ,pls wait for the endless shimmy ,the bad handling, routers, bad a/c etc"
Then you, Simson, offered him good advice tying to help him out.
I also searched around for the "shimmy" problem and almost all of the cases were just as you described, poor alignment, rotors, bent rims or ballance that led to uneven tread ware. Once that happens your tires are gone.
These low profile tires seem to be suceptable to alignment or damage caused by improper maintenance. Or you need to make sure who ever is ballancing and aligning your tires really knows what they are doing. It's a Kia right, who cares about doing a good job?
All tires start to shimmy if they aren't rotated. I think with Kia, people just like to assume it's something wrong with the car.
The tires are probably more difficult to maintain.
But hey, if you got a tire problem start a tire problem thread instead of flaiming everyone else who is trying to maintain their cars! Sir!

Amen!
We all can still be friends though.

Yup. I'm going to post some of this info about "shimmy" over in your "alignment" thread. I also posted my alignment specs over there, in which the toe in was off.
Moshneb is more than welcome to join the discussion there.
I would also like to learn more to try and avoid those kinds of problems. Maybe he is right, although a lot of other people don't have any problems at all.

Dear All,
At the end we are friends and there are nothing at all.
