So i recently purchased a 2008 Kia Spectra EX. It has 17 inch Drifz rims and khumo low profile tires. The TPMS sensor is on on the dash, would i just take it to Kia or is it okay to drives as is?
With non-OEM rims and tires the TPMS "senders" may no longer be there.
The were mounted by the stems. to the old rims...
If they are gone just pull the dash cluster and remove the TPMS bulb.
Just like any car without TPMS...YOU have to watch the tire pressure(s)

Is there any way to get the TPMs sensor hooked up to the new rims? I live in sour Dakota so its hard to keep the tires where they should be. 40psi for these tires
Yes, you could buy new TMPS sensors and have them installed in your wheels. OEM Kia tpms sensors have a list price of $56.00 each. I could sell you them for $43.00 each. You can PM me if you want to get them.
But 40 PSI may be higher than the "standard" range for KIA TPIS senders...
and may send errors for over-inflation...
I'd believe just removing the bulb/lamp and checking the tires is the best path to follow...

Now I'm left to ask what TPMS light? The one that uses the letters "TPMS", or the one right below it that is the tire profile with the "!" in the middle.
If it's the TPMS, than the sensors are absent or non-functional.
If it's the (!), than it's actual pressure (over/under).

2006~ Spectras came with 15" steel and 16" alloy rims and tires..
I'd bet that none of the pressure sensor senders are present and the TPMS light is on.

Actually was a reason for asking
He mentioned that the tires were inflated to 40psi, which would trigger the over/under warning (!) if the sensors were in fact moved to the new rims, would it not?
