Default Replacement of sway bar bushing?

Hello All,

I had my 2005 in for a service last week and complained that there is a squeak in the rear of the car. The guy told me that the drivers side sway busing is worn. Just wondering if anyone has had to replace these?

Mine has doe 72,000km so is still under warranty. I'll take it into the dealer soon.

Many thanks in advance.

Before you replace the bushings, try what I did.

Go to an auto parts store and get a spray can of any kind of lubricant that contains teflon. Make sure that it has the little plastic tube/nozzle attached to the can.

Wash the rear suspension of your car really well with a high pressure car wash wand IF you have any kind of mud or dirt caked up in the suspension.

When it is dry, get under the car and stick the tube tip into the crack where the bar passes through the bushing and spray liberally around the bar. Do this on every bushing point the bar passes through.

Bounce the car up and down, take it for a drive, etc. to work it in. Repeat one more time if any squeaks remain. Drive it for a week and see if the noice doesn't disappear as the lubricant works its way in.

If it doesn't.... then it's probably time for a bushing. I'm currently at 49k miles, and my rear bar is still squeak free after doing the above.

Do yourself a favor and replace with urethane bushings.
