Default No Audio Sedona CD Player

Hello. I am new to the forum. I am hoping to find the answer to a problem I am having with my Sedona cd player. I have a 2008 Sedona with the factory issued audio system. I had no problems with it before a couple of weeks ago. At that time, no air/heat was blowing out of any of the vents in the van. I took it to be serviced. They fixed it pretty easily, but had to get behind the dashboard to do it. From that day on, my cd player hasn't worked correctly. It will load cds, read the discs, and I can even see the volume level change up and down as I turn the knob. However, there is no sound at all. The sound on the radio works fine, as does the sound on the dvd player. It seems to just be affecting the cd player. I told them about it at the dealer when I took it in for work again today. They said that they got behind the dash again and checked it out and that there were no loose wires and nothing seemed disconnected. They told me that I could have the cd player replaced for about $149.00, including labor. My issue is that I am having a difficult time believing that it coincidentally stopped working the same day they had been working on it. Does anyone know of other things that I can check that could be causing this problem? Thanks!

i would think while they had the dash out the possibly disturbed a connector or wire. i would take it to a local stereo installation shop and have them remove the radio assembly and check all the connections before i would have the dealer replace the unit and if it is the radio/cd you could find a nice aftermarket unit cheaper.

Thank you for responding. That was my thinking too. I installed an aftermarket stereo in my daughter's car for Christmas without much difficulty, so I was considering trying to check for loose connections myself. I may try your suggestion though. I am not sure I would know what I was looking for. I like the guys at my dealership, they just aren't always the most proactive when it comes to getting to the bottom of things. I will keep looking. Thanks again!
