Hey folks,
I am looking into replacing the factory stereo in my '02 Spectra with an aftermarket CD player. I'm not 100% sure how to go about it so I need some help. Does anyone know how to take the old one out. I think you have to take the entire dash board trip off, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated!

The trim is held on with six clips that are VERY tight to pull the first time.

You can use a dash-trim removal tool (about $7 at any stereo shop), or a screwdriver with a heavy cloth over the end. The screwdriver method works, but it is more likely to damage the trim, so it's worth the couple dollars to get the trim tool. Once you pry the trim off, it's pretty straight forward - you'll have no problem from that point on.

It's a pretty easy job, you'll be able to do it in 30 mins or less.
