We recently had the front pulley stop turning on our 2003 Sorento. The only indication that there might have been a problem was some occasional belt squeal after starting.
The key driving the pulley had sheared, all the belts stopped turning (no power steering, etc.)
Don't know what started this happening - loose bolt?
Kia had to replace the crankshaft, which had been damaged by the movement between the crank and pulley hub.
Done under warranty.
Check yours out, especially if it is close to the end of the warranty! This is a very expensive repair!
