a group buy is when someone is selling something and the more they sell of this item the cheaper it will be so a group of people will buy it at the same time to get a deal.

Usually a group buy is made when a product doesnt have much interest but they will make it if there is a group that is willing to make a payment for the unmade product.

for instance there was a group buy for a carbon fiber hood. It wasnt made BUT a manufacturter says if you can get 10 pre orders with the payments they would start production on it. and usually the group buy price is lower than if you were to wait till the product was made and into sale.

Who coordinates the buy (ensures payment, places the order, etc.)?
