Hi.
Just wanting to know if anyone has had issues with their 2012 Kia Rio?

This vehicle was purchased new and CANNOT handle cold or hot climates.

I live in Canberra. My car is not even 2 years old (23, 000kms) and all the paint is stripping off the bonnet and roof.

On cold mornings, the electrics dont work. So most mornings there are no lights on dash, speedo stops working, petrol gauge stops, internal lights stop, SRS warning light stays on until the weather warms up (was on for five days in a row - told by kia not to drive until light disappears - awesome, thanks kia)

When queried, this was the reponse from Kia dealership, "mate the cars nearly two years old, what do you expect". This is from John McGrath Woden ACT. DO NOT BUT FROM JOHN McGRATH.

So yeah, interested in hearing from anyone with similar issues. Thanks.

You should have taken this up with kia head office, if the dealer was unwilling to help you. You should not delay, file a report with your highway institute of safety office, that will get them on their toes...a dash blacking out is a MAJOR safety concern. Tell them your going online to bash them and do whatever you can to spread the word. You need to put heat on them. What about lemon law?

That is absolutely ridiculous.

Ours has seen it's fair share of extremes, from -8 up in the snowy mountains right up to an indicated 47 degrees during a killer hot Sydney day earlier this year - our Rio handled it with ease.

We haven't had a single failure except an annoying dash rattle which is being fixed under warranty. If what you say is true, I would be pushing the dealer hard to have the car fixed under warranty. If they refuse, then I would be going to the dealer principal, and the Kia HQ. If they start to drag their feet, use the Kia Australia public facebook page to make them aware of the issues.
