Hello,
I just purchased a KIA sportage 2017 and i would like to know if users of the same car type have the same feeling/issue as i do.
When i am backing up i have to be going really really slow for the backing sensor to beep at 1 meter from the obstacle/wall/car etc. If I go a bit faster i will miss the 1 meter beep and go directly to the your crashing your car now beep. I went to KIA in my country (Cyprus) and they advised me to take the car to their mechanics. The mechanic there told me that this is the correct responsiveness of the sensor and that i have to be backing up really really slow (slower than a turtle). If this is the case then i guess it is going to be a horror show when you try to park in reverse at a mall.
Can users of the new KIA sportage 2017 confirm what i am describing? I only had experience with a parking sensor at my fathers car and comparing to that, the sensor sensitivity is far more reliable that what i am experiencing with KIA sportage 2017.
Also, when i took the car to the KIA mechanic in Cyprus he did not enter the car to test the sensitivity. He just put the car in reverse and went behind the car just to prove me that the sensor works. I know that the sensor works i just want establish that this is the correct way for the sensor to operate.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my post. I hope this is the correct place to post this.
