What would you change on your Sportage

Personally I could do with out

lane departure warning

blind spot warning

And I would love to have

Interior front and rear Floor lighting

Puddle lights

Automatic wipers

Adaptive cruse control

Add More than 18 favorite stations on sxm

Possibility to seek all radio or xm radio stations with the steering controls. Not just favorites.

Upgrade the sound system, volume goes from 0 to 45 and in reality it barely gets louder, sound is definitely not up to par with the price paid for the upgrade.

When hooked up to AA, charge the phone more

Memory seats

Put fuse access door facing the door so it's not visible from the inside. If I'm not mistaken this was the same set up un the pony

free upgrades of the maps or at least for a decent price, $300 plus tx is Ludacris.

Upgrade the material used to cover the interior roof.

110 plug

Led back up, licence plate, glove box and vanity mirror bulbs

Performance options available from dealer that don't void warranty

Shocks that hold up the hood

Make headlights white like the fog lights

Paint callipers so they don't rust after 2 years (most manufacturers are doing this also) wheels getting bigger so calipers are exposed now.

I may sound spoiled, listing all these things but don't get me wrong at the end of the day I love my sportage. I am in the process of adding many of these features to satisfy my needs.

Things I wish they added, that could have EASILY implemented (Most Found in the Optima):

Memory Seats
4-way Lumbar
Adaptive Cruise Control
*Heated Rear Seats (Eh, it's a nice bonus)
Automatic Wipers
A better UVO system
*Wireless Charging
*Electronic Parking Brake
6-Speed Manual (asking for too much)

Things I could live without:

The chime when entering the car
Liftgate Memory

*Available in non-US markets

Wish list:

Adaptive cruise control.

Have the DRLs turn off when the headlights turn on. I see no reason for them both to be on at the same time.

In the daytime, have the turn signals work separately from the DRL's. I don't like that the one DRL turns off when a turn signal is used.

Puddle lights.

Automatic wipers.

I've noticed that most new vehicles do that now. Guess they think it's easier to
see just the turn signal.

Better shocks. My SX corners and handles great but it is a little 'floaty' on the highway. No biggie - I'll put some better ones in it in a few years. I guess maybe they 'over-corrected' the harsh ride of the 3G.

- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keeping Assist (not just warning)
- Manual Handbrake (how the heck do you use an e-brake during an emergency)
- Move all those heated/aerated/heating steering wheel buttons. They are too low and require me to maneuver around the gear shifter.
- heated wipers/wiper fluid/de-icer
- Wiper Inserts for wipers instead of having to replace the whole blade
- 3rd Row emergency seating
- Seat belt attached to seat in rear middle seat rather than in ceiling
- Bigger/flatter steering wheel buttons (audio/cruise controls)
- Side Mirrors that tilt downwards while backing up
- Better backup camera (that has more clarity)
- 110V plug
- A way to disable the "snow/frost" warning - seems to chime randomly (initial car start, while driving, etc)
- floor lighting (front/rear)
- puddle lights
- better audio system (as described in another thread, there seems to be some mid-high range audio compression that seems to alter the audio)
- Napa leather option (we just get regular leather)
- auto up/down for all windows
- rear window sunshades
- cooling glovebox (like the Rondo)
- better fuel economy

Funny how the 2016 Kia Sportage got a cooled glovebox and the 2017 doesn't...

You want to heat and cool your seat simultaneously?

What do you consider "old fashioned" about the gear stick?

Not an easy task for an older person with their hands full to lift a foot to
wave under the tailgate.

I'm glad the seats feel stiff because I'm sure they will soften in time.

I love the instruments, HVAC controls, etc. except for two things.
Speedometer etc. are too dark during the day.
Armrest is a few inches too high.
