I hope the fronts are not far behind, the oem all weather mats are not doing a good job keeping sand and water contained.... well... not compared to the laser fit floor liners anyway
ya i hear ya....this is the first car i ever had with non black interior. It was a change for me. And I really like the two tone beige from the moment I saw it. But I also like the balance in the car right now with the black mats. Just wondering if light colored floor mats would be too much and how grungy they might get to looking in the winter slop
I wonder if I'm still on their notify list. I got the email advising the rear were available which is useless. I want the set and maybe even the cargo mat. Free shipping on the cargo mat for now but I just want to make one order.
I'm curious to see what the window vent visors look like myself.
Weather Tech (and Nissan) failed me on my 370Z by never making a rear cargo tray. Perhaps the sales volume was just too low to make a profit; can't blame them if that was the case. We'll see how they do here on the Sportage.
Weathertechs or OEM's regardless have a very vulnerable spot with the gas peddle being hinged on the bottom. Dirt, mud and snow all are going to work their way under the mats. The passenger side will do great with the WT's. The driver side we will see.
yup, with the oem all-weathers I have a nice rim of sand around the edges of the mat, at least with the W.T liner, the gas pedal is the primary area for spillage.
FYI, I you cannot wait for the 2017 Sportage weathertech mats, you can use a set of Husky weatherbeathers from a 2016 Hyunda Tucson. They fit
I just traded a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Sport model for a 2017 Sportage EX and I'm using the mats.
I've bought a Husky weatherbeathers from Ebay for the Tucson but I took them out before the trade.
They fit almost perfectly exempt the driver's side, because the Sportage doesn't have the gas lock on the floor.
I'm using them with no problem.
Look at the set on fleabay and look at the driver's mat showing the molded area for the gas lock.
I did cut the part out around and now it sit perfectly. Also, I paid around $155 shipped, and they are much better than the OEM.
I went with the factory cargo tray, and got the factory floor mats. I prefer the carpet floor mats vs plastic. But I will probably also buy the Weather Tech mats for the winter and just put them right on top of the factory carpet ones.
I had a black Saturn VUE with tan interior and I used the factory WT-type tan mats because they kind of matched the carpet. I had the VUE for eight years and never regretted using the lighter-colored mats. You just throw them down on the driveway and scrub them with a good detergent and brush.
My Black Cherry/Black SX has a black floor so I probably will go with black, fronts only, probably the factory WT-type if they have the 'cells' like WT that hold water/dirt.
I really would have liked the beige interior but I have to admit the black leather looks really good too and was not hot this summer. I tried the seat cooling twice just to see what happened, and as far as I could tell nothing happened. Hot seats just wasn't a problem. I leave the sun shade closed in hot sunny weather so it really doesn't heat up that bad.
Bonzo; I would recommend you take out the factory carpet mats, clean them and store them for the winter rather than throwing the WTs in over them. I don't think the mat retention system will work with two mats. There could be a moisture problem as well as unstable mats getting in and out.
I just purchased the Husky cargo mat and use the factory floor mats. I prefer the Husky to the WeatherTech because they are softer and better to carry stuff, i.e., less bouncing, more sticky... WeatherTech has better coverage on the floor mats, but since I now live in a warm climate vs. New Jersey, I don't need the coverage.
I bought the KIA mats too. They looked okay and most likely will do an adequate job. Got the set of 4 on Amazon for $58. You have to be careful ordering them to make sure you're getting the 4G mats.
Okay, these mats sort of fit but are not optimal. For example, the driver's side only has one lock tab, has an unexpected open area and the passenger's side leaves a large area open. I'm not 'picky' about such things but especially since this is an official KIA part I expect a better job. I mean all they had to do was use the damn original mats as a template and they couldn't even do that. I'll wait for mats that actually are made for the car.
i don't see a way around the bottom hinged pedal.
nobody will wanna mess with anything too close or under the pedal in order avoid interference issues.
what is the functional improvement this bottom hinged configuration offers over a pedal that hangs down anyway? I don't get it and is clearly a disadvantage in this situation, for what benefit?
Fred, there is no other way to make a mat to accommodate the floor-mounted throttle pedal.
BTW, congrats on getting a Black Cherry with Beige Leather. I grabbed the first SX I could find and I ended up with BC/Black, which is nice in its own way.
Those Husky liners are shaped exactly as I would expect, and that's what I'll probably get. But they are expensive!
I just got an email from Kelly Romero at WeatherTec and he/she is teiling me the front row 17 sportage mats are "in the last stage of production" and should be available "as early as two weeks"
I received an email from Weathertech.ca early this evening that the front mats are available. My order was placed on the website, no problem, and not a moment too soon.
SSportage_ Did you look at how much that cargo tray costs from KIA? $80.... Part number Part#: D9012 ADU00. Just go down to your dealer and get one. I have one and Weathertech nor Husky are worth that extra $$! OK one downside, black only....
We ordered the complete set. There is not a "package" price that I saw but you do get free shipping on the cargo mat if you order the 1st and or 2nd row mats. Shipping was $18 USD. Total $332.50 USD all in. I had to pay IL tax.
I honestly have to say I am a bit disappointed with these. The plastic is stiffer than I would like and the fit along the sides is a little wavy, not tight. I fear slush and grit will drop along the sides. I am going to reach out to WeatherTech on Monday to see if this is normal and if I am being too picky. I guess I expected perfection for "laser measured" and over $300.

Has the fit gotten any better or are you still disappointed?
