Nav head units slow responce

Hi,
I have a brand new 2017 sportage SX fully loaded and i noticed that the Nav unit is a bit slow to respond while navigating the menus. You can feel a delay while moving from one option to the other.
Also the voice recognition is the slowest of any car i have owned, it takes a good 5 to 7 seconds to get any feedback after a comand. Even after i downloaded the upgrade that Kia posted last week, it is still the same slowness.
I had a 2014 KIA Sorento SXL for the past 3 years and while the response on that was not the greatest it was still faster than the one on my new sportage.

Is anyone having the same issue? i figured i ask here to see if it is normal before contacting Kia

Yeah, i have a 2016 Explorer sport as well and that is a breeze, no slowness and the voice recognition is actually really good.
Don't take me wrong it has its problems of freezing from time to time but the day to day operations remains really good.

I also can feel the difference even from my old 2014 sorento and this suppose to be a newer version. Making a call over voice command takes a while. It is faster if i pick up the phone and dial the number.
Hopefully kia can tackle this sometimes soon.

I agree, though mostly it is on boot up that it is really laggy. Which of course is when you want it to be quick since you just hopped in and need to go some where. My issues with the Uvo3 + Nav:

Running firmware posted a couple of weeks ago on Kia's uvo site
Bluetooth takes too long to connect
System takes too long to boot up and prepare before taking any input
Voice recognition is horribly innacurate (my 15sx was way better)
Voice recognition is very slow to respond (probably because its trying to process the commands it can't understand thanks to the lack of speaker training in the new model)

I'm gonna call and open a case with kia today. If we don't do that and mention it on the IQS they won't do anything to fix it.

It's really sad how bad it is. Given I cannot get much of a charge when connected to the port for Android Auto, I no longer have voice control at all in my four-year-newer-model vehicle. I tried three times at lunch time to voice dial someone I have voice dialed successfully in the past. Had to give up. Too frustrating.

I guess I will call Kia and complain again about it, since the update definitely did not make it better.

I installed the updated software several days ago. I now have an intermittent issue with the radio when the vehicle has been off and all systems put to sleep, After starting the vehicle I get the normal nav screen showing av/off. I press the on/off button for the radio. I get no volume. Turning the volume knob shows the linear line going higher or lower, but no sound. When I press the radio button on the dash I get the listing of my saved channels and the volume works normally. I can shut the radio off and try it again, and everything is fine. Again, the problem only seems to be after the vehicle has been off for awhile and I assume everything is asleep.

Anyone else have this problem?

What SW Ver are you talking about? The one that came with the map update or the one from UVO?

I am SW ver ST.QL.USA.E509.XXXX No problems as of yet. That is the ver that came with the Map update from MapNSoft with map ver 10.0. The one from the UVO site is more recent but I haven't updated to that one yet. Thats why I am curious as to what you are having problems with. Thanks.
