Default Kia Optima Spare Tire Kit: Two Part #'s

Hi Kohaku,

The difference between the two different part #'s is this:
- The Part #: 09100-4C999 is the Genuine OEM Kia Optima Spare Tire Kit.
- The Part #: 09100-4U999 is the Genuine OEM Kia Optima Hybrid Spare Tire Kit.

The Kia Optima Hybrid Spare Tire Kit has been out for quite some time, now. But I'm sure that due to a lot of complaints, Kia Motor America finally had the Kia Optima Spare Tire Kit engineered and manufactured.

I hope this information was helpful for you! These might be extra helpful, too.
1. Free Shipping on orders $150 or more within the Continental U.S.A.
2. Use this coupon code for 10% off your purchase: codekf

Thanks much,

Default 2013 Kia Optima SXL Spare Tire Kit

Hello jooset,

Just made a call to Kia. There is a Spare Tire Kit under production for the 18" SXL trim-level. The Spare Tire Kits mentioned above are solely for the 16" and 17". Kia says it's still being tested.

We'll keep the forum posted on the correct Spare Tire Kit for the 18" SXL trim-level, though.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info on the kit. I just purchased a 2013 EX and was surprised to see a big foam insert and a glorified fix-a-flat in the trunk. Quick question on the spare kit...how does it mount in the trunk? From the picture at Kiastuff I don't see a typical shaft, plate and wing nut to hold the spare down. There is a threaded hole in the trunk, and I want to make sure this kit has the mounting hardware in addition to the jack, lug wrench, etc.

thanks

Edit: I found this picture at another retailer. It shows a mounting plate sitting on top of the tools. This isn't shown at the kiastuff site. Can you verify that it's included if I buy from kiastuff?

Default 2013 Kia Optima SXL Spare Tire Kit

jooset,

Kia finally released the Kia Optima Spare Tire Kit that will fit the 2013 SXL trim level! We put this new kit under Option 2 on the product page we hyperlinked.

It's important to choose the correct option because Kia Motor America factory tested the two separate kits according to the wheel size the car would come with. So any Optima with 16" or 17" factory wheels need to order Option 1. And any Optima with 18" factory wheels need to order Option 2.

Spread the word!!!!

Let us know if you need any additional help with anything.

FWIW, I got my spare tire kit from Kiastuff last week and everything went in perfectly. It even has replacement door stickers that show the pressure requirements for the spare. I'm glad I got it

Registered with the sole purpose of saying thank you for the link! I just waited two and a half hours for a tow truck for a flat tire (sidewall blowout). I cannot believe that it is even legal to have no spare without run flats.

On top of that, NO ONE has a replacement tire. I had the wheel off and in my truck and had to put it back on when no one in the area had the tire available - including two Kia dealers. So now since there is no spare my wife has no car for multiple days over a flat tire. Simply unacceptable for a brand new car.

Needless to say I am not really impressed on this. The car is nice but some of this is just common sense.

Ok ... so maybe I registered to say thank you and to vent a little..
