Let me clarify this a little more. The very first oil change is at 3,000 miles. After that, it becomes every 5,000 miles. So your next oil change will be at 8,000 miles, 13,000 miles and so on and so forth.

Got my first at 3000 and the dealer said every 5000 from here on out and I have a Turbo. Plus fuel additive, but I will be adding my own they wanted to charge $25.00...

The book states that oil changes should be preformed every 5000 to 7500. I say 6000 as that's when tires should be rotated.

Sound advice 2.0 T.

I always like to change the first one early though like Chino, just in case there is minor metal shavings. Did that with the '00 Sonata GLS V-6 and it's still going strong at 175K. Even Hyundai mechanics recommended it.
