My daily commute is close to what ELI 10 does...34.8 miles a day, to be exact...and in the Hill Country. I do about 3/4 tank a week, with about 25% in-town driving, the rest highway with intermittent stop lights. The best total mileage on one tank was 399 miles.
I find it very hard to believe some of the fuel efficiency problems I'm reading here. I've put almost 32,000 miles on this thing since 10/28/2011, and have been from one coast to the other, all interstate, and am impressed with how it drives and how efficient it's been. Granted, I get crappy mileage when I put my foot through the floor; I get 35mpg at 80, 40mpg at 70 on the interstate; I couldn't be more pleased with the car. And mine was probably one of the first 2011s here.
I don't know. Maybe mine is the exception. Maybe some folks actually got crappy cars. Or maybe we're not getting the whole story.
