lol yeah.. Until I pull apart the housing and do a retro fit the HID's will be in factory housing just aimed a little lower as to not blind everyone as I did with my last build.. also once lowered it will help as well. With my last set up I never had any complaints.
Awesome, dude! Please post a build of the headlight retrofit. That is something I've been looking into and it would be sweet to see someone's build of some Rio lights.

*I recently joined the "headlight junkies" group on FB and there is a lot of inspiration there.

Update!!!!

My Stage 1 Chassis Set is ready for shipping! I just got some H&R lowering springs (until I go coils) and I am doing a different audio setup in the hatch now, going with an inverted sub box and black/grey oak hardwood flooring!

Here are a few pics! Stay Awesome :)

35w 8k HID conversion kit
8000 K, reflector... it all just looks bad, man.
Either do retrofit with HID projector fitted with nothing more blue than 6000 K, or drop HID at all.

8000 Kelvin HID in OEM reflector looks like monster truck from Rio.
Visit www.hidplanet.com for inspiration.
Visit www.theretrofitsource.com for rough idea what you might need.

It took me a while and consumed maybe $600, but I did full retro FX-R with 4300 K Osram 66240 D2S.
Man, this is the way to go. The "righter" way, except having OEM HID with autoleveling.

It was a nice day yesterday so I decided to see what my subs and box would look like in the hatch! Still have lots to do like my false floor, lights, amp display and I am thinking I may wrap the side plastic pieces in some sort of fabric but I am really liking the inverted look and can't wait to actually get them installed. There is now a dash kit available for the 2016's so once mine comes in I will start installing the audio portion of my build.

Lovely thread. Liking the handling upgrades. I do however detest that air intake. If anything it's going to have a negative impact on a daily driver. Any slow moving traffic and your eating hot air. Mpg drop etc etc. Why not a panel filter and try shorted the piping some way.

That's not true. It's called a cold air intake for a reason. On this car the pipe is already very short so removing the factory air box and putting the one in the above picture places the filter lower where the air is closer to ambient temperature. Also the front corner of the 2012-2016 Rio does not get hot. I installed a short ram intake with a heat shield just like the one in the picture. I have tested it by driving for a couple of hours straight and then sitting in a parking lot with the engine running for 15 mins. The filter was still closer to ambient air temp while just several inches back was too hot to touch.

Thanks guys! Appreciate all the feed back, keep it coming!!!

And yes I have to agree with Shaun Aston.. the cold air intake sits lower in the front left fender which sucks in more ambient air like temps... this car is only a daily for the summer but even sitting in hot slow moving traffic the air will be cooler then any short ram intake sitting right in the engine bay.
