Default Replacement keys?

Is this a dealer only option? I don't necessarily want another fob, just an extra traditional key cut as an emergency spare.

You have push button start (if you have an EX). You need more than 2 keys? If so, PM me the last 8 of your vin and I'll see what I can do for you.

I do not have push button start. I think that is only on the SX models.

Had my locksmith get me a Kia blank to cut me a valet key. It started my 2012 EX; thought it would require programming, but didn't.

thanks for the smug answer. I did read that thread before and when I searched usingh the advanced search I typed in "key replacements" and this thread never showed up in the search. In any event the solution you gave in the thread was to buy the key and hope it works. Not really an answer at all and the thread itself you posted, does nothing to answer my question. I was really hoping this thread would provide an answer not snarky remarks from a select few individuals on this forum that like to do this sort of thing.

That's good to know it doesn't need programming. How much did a locksmith charge to cut a Kia blank?

Been awhile, but less than $35 for the key and labor; small Kansas town.

For $35 I think I can do without a valet key. I was hoping if it was like a regular key charge from say Home Depot or Lowes at around $2.
