Black Tailpipe residue

I would expect the black to get a little worse as Kia alters the map to compensate for the self destructing plug issue - I would guess there will be a future ecu flash as part of a regular service ...

Actually that's normal for fuel injected vehicles.
I can't remember exactly, even water in your tail pipe is good.

What is NOT good IS BLACK SMOKE which is a sign of oil burning.
Don't worry, our Sportage is the same along with other fuel injected vehicles we had before

I thought the sign of a gasoline engine burning oil was blue smoke out of the tail pipe.

Black smoke is fuel(rich mixture)..Blue Smoke is oil...White smoke is water/antifreeze(Steam)
