we took our fwd 2011 sportage in for service at 26,000 miles and the tires are down to the wear bars. we had them rotated at the dealership at each service interval and still didnt get many miles out of them. im looking at replacing them with a more aggresive tire, the cooper discoverer at3's are what im looking at, had anyone had these tires on their sportage and if so how did it perform with them. or any reccomendations on similiar tires, thanks

I've in the last few years had Yokohama & Pirelli brand all-season tires. Not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either. Both lasted me, with proper rotation, 40,000 or so. The Pirellis lasted 49K but were pretty bald when I finally replaced them. So, should of replaced at around 40K
I was happy with both my Pirelli and Yokohama tires. Ride was good and handling seemed fine to me...
My Hankook 18" that came on 2011 SX are holding up fine with 11,000 on them. Hope they last longer than yours or I'll be switching back to my previous brands...

I have 25,300 miles on my 2012 sx and i have rotated stock tires front-to-back (no x pattern) twice now. Once at ~10k and once at ~20k.
My wear bars are no where near showing yet. I'd say they have a bit of life left too. No cupping or uneven wear. The miles are mostly interstate, never off road. No curbing ever.
I'm gonna go check them today though, just to be sure everything is good. i'll try to get a picture uploaded if i can get one that shows anything.

see how much wear is left till the indicators. and the wear looks pretty even. i checked on all the tires and they all have this much left. this was measured by touch, not with proper gage or caliper.
here is another one showing the tread wear. does this look like cupping (from not crossing when rotating)? in this picture direction of rotation is toward the left.

26k on the OE tires is about average where I live. We have lots of twists and turns and hills. Your driving conditions and style greatly affect tire wear.
I am going to assume that you have 215/70/16s since you are looking at the AT3s. If not, the AT3s are not available for the other Sportage tire sizes(225/60/17 or 235/55/18) per Cooper's website.It is a high quality tire, but from experience they are fairly noisy, and you will likely notice a mileage drop, 2-3mpg. I also wouldn't expect to get more miles out of them, being a more aggressive tire.
We deal with Uniroyal a lot where I work, and they have been great as replacements on the Sportages and Sorentos. I haven't heard any complaints in conditions such as snow/ice or wet pavement. They are not as aggressive as the AT3s, though. Check it out here: P215/70R16 Size Tires | Uniroyal Tire . I'm not biased toward Uniroyal, just giving info on my personal experience.

The Cooper AT3's are available in size 235/60/17" that should fit the Sportage/Tucson, it is only 3/4" bigger in diameter, 3/8" taller in radius, (from axle center), that's what I was gonna get, But, they're the only size without white lettering, WHY?!
Those Uniroyals look good for an all weather tire, but what do the reviews say? How are they rated? are they good offroad as well?

I have almost 42,000 miles on my original tires. They are in great shape and look like they will make it at least to 65,000 miles. Operating conditions here in South Jersey must be different.
