Backup Camera issue

Hello All,

Have a 2012 Sportage GTDI Turbo. Having issues with the backup camera. Something when put into reverse, the backup camera is slow to come on.
And then, when shifting to Drive, the camera stays on? If you then put the transmission back into park and then shift to drive, sometimes the camera will go off and other times it just stays on until you actually turn the engine off and restart the car.

Had it back to the dealer a few months ago for this same issue and they replaced the camera unit under warranty. Now it is doing it again? So it will be going back in again.

Anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this OR is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

No nav or dvd on it..UVO system

I have the same issue with my 2012 sportage - no nav. Sometimes UVO never even comes on until I put the car in park and then restart. Other times the reverse camera never comes on and it takes several minutes for UVO to come on once out of reverse, then the rest of the time it works great.

I have the same issue. I even drove 10 miles and the rear camera was still on. Wtf

I have the 2012 Sportage and I'm having a similar issue. From time to time the back up camera & radio take 30 - 45 seconds to come on after I start the car. I took it to the dealership and they said I have to reset it every once in a while. They just did that on Sunday and I've already had it happen twice today. They said this happens more because I have a smart phone. I'm going to try disconnecting the blue tooth and see if that solves the problem. It's very frustrating not to have a back up camera 20% of the time because I won't wait 45 seconds for it to reset.
